For Tenants

For Landlords

Fair Return Training

Landlords who believe that the net operating income generated by their rental property has decreased over the years and would like to increase the rents above the established annual rent stabilization allowance are encouraged to participate in this two-hour training. The class, offered on a quarterly basis, takes landlords step by step through the petition process and provides guidance on the presentation of required documentation.

Landlord Certification Seminar

Monthly seminar offered to current and prospective landlords seeking required Landlord Certification. The 90-minute seminar provides landlords and their agents with a working knowledge of the laws governing the management, operation, maintenance and sale of rental housing property in Takoma Park. For Home Buyers

First Time Home Buyer Class

The City of Takoma Park's Housing and Community Development department periodically offers classes for first time home buyers. The class is Offered by a HUD-approved housing agency, participants will receive a certificate of completion that may be used to access low interest loans offered through Montgomery County and the State of Maryland. Experts from real estate offices, lending institutions, title companies and inspection compan will all be on hand to disccuss their roles in the home purchasing process.
