PEPCO Work; Road Closures

Ethan Allen Avenue, between Carroll Avenue and Jackson Avenue, will be closed on Tuesday, September 3, from 9 am to 3 pm to enable PEPCO contractors to replace utility poles and electrical lines in that area. In addition, Sycamore Avenue, between Ethan Allen Avenue and Columbia Avenue, will also be closed. Detour signs will be set up to direct traffic around the closed roads. 

CORRECTION Residential Burglary (Detached Office at the Rear of the Residence)

On August 21, 2014, at approximately 9:32 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7100 block of Sycamore Avenue for a report of a burglary that occurred in the office at the rear of the residence.  Unknown suspect(s) made entry into the office by removing a screen to the window and lifting the window.  Property was stolen.

Destruction of Property

On August 24, 2014, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6700 block of Eastern Avenue for the report of a destruction of property.  Sometime between 2:00 pm and 5:30 pm, unknown suspect(s) smashed the driver side window of the victim's vehicle.

Gas Station Theft from Auto

On August 24, 2014, at approximately 2:36 pm, a theft from auto occurred in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Sunoco Gas Station).  While fueling his vehicle, unknown suspect(s) stole property from the front passenger seat of the vehicle.  It is believed the suspect vehicle was a black Infinity.

Gas Station Theft from Auto; Destruction of Property

On August 23, 2014, at approximately 12:24 pm, a theft from auto and destruction of property occurred in the 900 block of East West Highway (Valero).  After fueling her vehicle, the victim walked into the establishment to pay, and unknown suspect(s) stole property from the front passenger seat of her vehicle.  Her driver side window was shattered.  There is no suspect or suspect vehicle description.

Theft from Auto

On August 21, 2014, at approximately 7:32 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 8300 block of Roanoke Avenue for the report of a theft from auto.  Some time between August 20 at 4:00 pm and August 21 at 7:30 pm, unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's vehicle by unknown means and stole property from inside the vehicle as well as vehicle parts.

On August 21, 2014, at approximately 9:32 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7100 block of Sycamore Avenue for a report of a residential burglary.  Unknown suspect(s) made entry into the residence by removing a screen to the window and lifting the window.  Property was stolen.

On August 21, 2014, at approximately 11:55 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 900 block of Glaizewood Avenue for a report of a residential burglary.  Some time between August 16 and August 21, unknown suspect(s) made entry into the residence by using a brick to smash out a ground level window.  Property was stolen.

Theft from Auto

On August 19, 2014, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6500 block of Kansas Lane for the report of a theft from auto.  Some time between 1:00 am and 7:00 am, unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's vehicle by cutting the rubber weather stripping on the passenger front window to gain access into the vehicle and stole property.
