Residential Burglary

On July 2, 2014, at approximately 3:31 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7400 block of Flower Avenue for a report of a residential burglary.  Unknown suspect(s) made entry into the residence through damaging a rear door.  It is not known if property was taken.

Theft from Auto

On July 2, 2014, at approximately 11:27 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue for a report of a theft from auto.  Some time on June 30 between 9:00 am and 10:00 am, unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's unlocked vehicle and stole property.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

Two severe cells likely to effect north Montgomery County over the next hour. One along the Frederick/Montgomery border and a second cell moving through central Montgomery County. These cells have a history of producing large hail up to 2".   
  
The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for Montgomery County.   
  
Significant cloud to ground lightning may be occurring with this storm. Outdoor activities should be postponed until this storm passes.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for Montgomery County until 4:30 pm.  
  
Significant cloud to ground lightning may be occurring with this storm. Outdoor activities should be postponed until this storm passes.  
  
Severe Thunderstorms can produce tornadoes with little or no advanced warning. Residents are urged to seek safe shelter indoors until the storm passes and remain alert for any additional warnings.

July 4th Road Closures, No Parking and Parade Route in Takoma Park

On July 4, 2014, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, there will be NO PARKING at the following:
 
- Both sides of Jackson Avenue, from Ethan Allen Avenue to Sligo Creek Parkway
- Both sides of Ritchie Avenue, from Maple Avenue to Piney Branch Road
- Both sides of Maple Avenue, from the D.C. line north to Lincoln Avenue

Theft

On June 30, 2014, at approximately 9:21 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6700 block of Poplar Avenue for the report of a theft.  Unknown suspect(s) stole property from the victim's residential yard some time between June 25 at 6:00 pm and June 29 at 6:30 pm.

Destruction of Property

On June 28, 2014, at approximately 5:30 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6600 block of Poplar Avenue for the report of destruction of property to four vehicles.  Unknown suspect(s) broke driver's side mirror to four vehicles some time between June 27 at 8:00 pm and June 28 at 5:30 am.

Residential Burglary

On June 26, 2014, at approximately 6:26 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 400 block of Tulip Avenue for a report of a residential burglary.  Sometime between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm, unknown suspect(s) made entry into the residence through an unlocked ground level window.  Property was taken.

Destruction of Property

On June 26, 2014, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6700 block of Poplar Avenue for the report of destruction of property.  Unknown suspect(s) broke a large bay window located beside the front door of the victim's residence, some time between 10:00 am and 8:30 pm.
