    Docs-in-Progress presents the uplifting tale of a reluctant farmer who never imagined she’d spend her ‘60s wrangling 100 deer in the Shenandoah Valley. After her deer farmer husband dies, Gail Rose must confront the uncertain fate of their farm and uphold her promise to keep it going no matter what. Q&A with filmmaker Kathryn Pasternak will follow the screening. Free.

    Description:

    Get ready for the annual Mid-Winter Play day!!

    This year’s event will be on Sunday, February 14 at the Takoma Park Community Center (7500 Maple Avenue). Enjoy dress up, face painting, giant chess, cookie decorating mud pies, fun with boxes and lots of great entertainment, let your hair down, play with play-doh, put on your comfy shoes and get ready to PLAY!     All City offices & facilities will be closed Monday, February 15, 2016 for the Presidents' Day holiday. The Takoma Park Police Department is open 24/7 for emergency services.

  • Art of the Game Basketball Fun Fest

    Description:

    Grades 1- 8

    This event is an opportunity for youth to show of their skills on and off the court. Youth will participate in a 3 point shooting contest, a dribbling competition and have the opportunity to design and print a t-shirt.     Come and Join local lawn care expert Zack Kline from A.I.R. Lawn Care and get tips on transitioning from traditional lawn care to organic methods. Homeowners attending the event will receive a free soil test and an opportunity to receive a free lawn care consultation from A.I.R. Lawn Care! Ten homeowners will be selected from the pool of applications for a free lawn care consultation. Applicants demonstrating serious lawn care issues will be selected.
