Community Conversations
Started in February of 2016, the “Community Conversations” initiative led by Takoma Park City Council seeks to engage members of the Takoma Park community in civil dialog with their elected officials.
About Community Conversations
The City of Takoma Park’s City Council plans to host a series of Community Conversations about various topics of importance to the community.
These “conversations” will be designed to promote thoughtful, engaged dialogue among Councilmembers, members of the community, staff and other subject matter experts.

The Community Conversation on Affordable Housing provided an opportunity to learn and engage in a discussion about the City’s approach to housing, current trends at the local and state level, and some new ideas for addressing the issue of affordable housing in Takoma Park. In addition to City Council, subject matter experts from City staff and national and community organizations were on hand to share information, respond to questions, and participate in the conversation.

The Community Conversation on Youth Success provided an opportunity to learn about current programs and service offerings geared toward youth in our area, engage in a discussion about needs and gaps in what is currently being offered, and consider how the City of Takoma Park can work toward addressing those needs and gaps.
