The City of Takoma Park is seeking documentary and experimental films to screen in our Winter/Spring 2016 We Are Takoma series.

Submissions are due at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015. Selections will be made by December 2015. Any submissions after this date will be considered for our Fall series.

Filmmakers may solicit “free will” donations at the door on the date of the event, with a maximum suggested donation of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per person. Individuals electing not to make a donation cannot be refused entrance to the event. Those soliciting donations must make arrangements for the collection and safekeeping of any donations.
Advance ticket sales or the set aside of reserved seating is strictly prohibited.
Filmmakers may sell merchandise at the event.
The City will promote We Are Takoma events on the City of Takoma Park website, City TV, Facebook, You Tube, Twitter, and/or the We Are Takoma arts e-newsletter. Additional promotion efforts may include the distribution of fliers and announcements in the Takoma Park Newsletter, We Are Takoma Guide, and City Guide.
Filmmakers are encouraged to assist in the promotion of the event, providing and authorizing the use of requested copy, images and video clips if available, and generally promoting the event using available marketing and social media outlets.
The Takoma Park Community Center Auditorium provides raked seating of 154 fixed seats (with two aisles) and room for 4 wheelchairs. The auditorium can be entered from the central reception area and from the Atrium Gallery.
The auditorium is ADA accessible and LEED certified.
The Takoma Park Community Center is Metro accessible via the Red line Takoma Station and is served by the following bus lines: WMATA F4, F6 and RideOn 16, 17, 18, 25.
Limited free parking is available behind the Community Center building.
