Winter Storm Warning - Community Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning indicating sleet and freezing rain with up to 0.25 inches of ice accumulations are likely from 7 pm February 4 until 10 am February 5.


A WINTER STORM WARNING means that significant amounts of snow, sleet, or freezing rain are expected or are occurring in the warned area.


Theft - Community Advisory

On February 3, 2014, at approximately 2:00 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the station for a report of thefts that occurred in the 6300 block of Westmoreland Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) have stolen waste containers from approximately 20 victims.

Stolen Auto - Community Advisory

On January 27, 2014, at approximately 8:41 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 400 block of Belford Place for a report of a stolen auto. The vehicle was stolen sometime between 1:05 am and 8:41 am. The outstanding stolen vehicle is described as a white 1997 Mercury 4 door Sable, MD tag #1AK0882.

Wind Chill Advisory/Warning - Community Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a WIND CHILL ADVISORY for Montgomery County on January 28 from 1:00 AM until 10:00 AM. High winds combined with below freezing temperatures are expected to drive the wind chill temperatures to -5F to -10F. In these temperatures, exposed skin can freeze within 5 minutes. Hypothermia is a dangerous possibility. Residents are advised to dress in layers when functioning outdoors.
