Theft from Auto - Community Advisory

On January 16, 2014, Takoma Park Police responded to the 8400 block of Piney Branch Road for a report of a theft from auto. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's vehicle sometime between 6:00 pm on January 15 and 7:00 am on January 16, by breaking the driver side window with an unknown object and stole property.

Arrests:

1300 blk. of University Blvd., on Tuesday, January 14th at 12:50 a.m., a male 32, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

8600 blk. of Flower Ave., on Monday, January 13th at 9:18 p.m., a male 51, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

7300 blk. of Takoma Ave., on Monday, January 13th at 12:36 a.m., a male 40, was arrested for having an open failure to appear in court warrant.

Many have heard of scams targeting the elderly, grandparent scams, home repair scams, investment scams, and a most recent scam we had here in Takoma Park called the "pigeon drop" scam, etc. But, did you know that certain scams are more likely to occur during certain times of the year?

Theft - Community Advisory

On January 14, 2014, at approximately 12:21 pm, Takoma Park Police responded for a report of a theft that occurred in the 7600 block of Takoma Avenue (Montgomery College). The victim's property was stolen from her office in one of the Commons Building. The victim believes she may have seen the suspect prior to the theft and described him as a black male, 6'0, 147 lbs., medium build, last seen wearing dark clothing and a knit cap.

Residential Burglary - Community Advisory

On January 14, 2014, at approximately 6:30 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7200 block of Holly Avenue for report of a residential burglary that occurred sometime between January 10 at 1:00 pm and January 14 at 6:25 am. Unknown suspect(s)made entry into the residence by prying open a back window. Property was stolen.
