School Bus Incident - Community Advisory

On November 20, 2013, at approximately 8:56 am, in the 7400 block of Maplewood Avenue, Takoma Park, Maryland, two students, 5 and 6 year old males, were picked up by their school bus to proceed to school. The two children lifted the latch in the back of the bus for the emergency exit and it opened and they fell out of the bus. They are being taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Parents have been notified.

Strong Arm Robbery - Community Advisory

On November 18, 2013, at approximately 12:04 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 1100 block of University Blvd. for the report of a strong arm robbery that just occurred. The victim was depositing cash for his business at the Wells Fargo Bank when he was approached by an unknown black male from behind. The suspect snatched the cash that was being kept in a black leather, zip-top "Wells Fargo" bag from underneath the victim's arm. A large amount of currency was stolen.

7500 blk. of Maple Ave., on Wednesday, November 13th at 2:31 p.m., a male 23, was arrested for having an open possession of marijuana warrant.

Intersection of Carroll Ave., and Philadelphia Ave., on November 10th at 11:15 a.m., a male 53, was arrested for having an open theft warrant.

Takoma Park Police Investigator's Seeking Public's Assistance - Community Advisory

Takoma Park Police Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance finding a witness(es) who observed two male subjects walking into the rear yard of a residence in the 6400 block of 4th Avenue, Takoma Park, Maryland, on October 31, 2013, in the evening hours between 6:30 and 8:30.

Five Vacancies on Police Chief's Advisory Board - Community Advisory

Chief Alan M. Goldberg of the Takoma Park Police Department announces that there are currently five vacancies on the Police Chief’s Advisory Board. In October 2009, the Board was formed, which keeps members informed of departmental activities, they receive updated advisories and alerts on crimes and are invited to department events. Recently, the meeting date/time has been changed to the third Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the City building.

Residential Burglary - Community Advisory

On November 11, 2013, Takoma Park Police responded to the 600 block of Ray Drive for report of a residential burglary that occurred sometime between November 8 at 11:00 am and November 11 at 2:31 pm. Unknown suspect(s)made entry into the residence by kicking in the front door, damaging the door frame, structure and lock. Property was stolen.

Bicycle Theft - Community Advisory

On November 7, 2013, at approximately 8:00 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to Montgomery College for a report of a stolen bicycle. Unknown suspect(s) stole the victim's bicycle from the bicycle rack where it was locked up. There did not appear to be any damage to the bike lock. No description of bicycle.
