Residential Burglary

On June 23, 2014, at approximately 8:25 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 100 block of Ritchie Avenue for a report of a residential burglary.  Sometime between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, unknown suspect(s)made entry into the residence by breaking the glass out of the kitchen door.  Property was taken.
 
Investigation continues under case #14029894.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to please call us at 301-270-1100.
 

Destruction of Property

On June 23, 2014,  at approximately 4:34 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 900 block of Glaizewood Avenue for the report of destruction of property.  Unknown suspect(s) broke the door handle off of the victim's vehicle some time between June 22 at 7:30 pm and June 23 at 4:00 pm.

600 block of Houston Avenue, on Saturday, June 14 at 6:36 pm, a male, 21, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
 
6500 block of Kansas Lane, on Wednesday, June 18 at 11:20 am, a female, 31, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
 
1300 block of University Blvd., on Wednesday, June 18 at 5:20 pm, a male, 36, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

June is "Move Over" Awareness Month; Weekly Crime Summary 6/6/14 - 6/12/14

Takoma Park Police are reminding motorists to be aware of the new traffic law that took effect on October 1, 2013, that requires drivers to ‘move over,’ if possible, and are aimed at increasing safety for police, fire and emergency medical services personnel working on Maryland roadsides, as well as those riding bicycles or scooters.
