Lifelong Takoma is an event which focuses primarily on individuals 55+ and disabled residents of all ages.
 
Services by this department include:
 
- Providing advocacy support for residents on issues or concerns that they may have;
- Sharing life-enhancing resources that are available and when requested, linking residents to contacts, services and programs; and
- Facilitating connection through creating community collaborations.

Residential Burglary

On July 23, 2014, at approximately 9:58 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the unit block of Crescent Place for a report of a residential burglary.  Unknown suspect(s) made entry into the residence by using a tire wrench to pry open the rear door causing damage to the door and frame.  Property was taken.
 
Investigation continues under case #14035242.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to please call us at 301-270-1100.

New York Avenue Closure on Friday, August 8

On Friday, August 8, 2014, starting at 7:00 am, New York Avenue will be closed between Chicago Avenue & Takoma Avenue to place a crane to replace the air conditioning unit for the resource center at the college. They are hoping to have it completed no later than Saturday afternoon, however, depending on the weather, they may work on Sunday.

Please Welcome the City of Takoma Park Police Department's New Crime Analyst; Takoma Park Police Department Weekly Crime Report 7/25/2014 - 7/31/2014

Mr. Andrea Artero is the newly appointed Crime Analyst for the City of Takoma Park Police Department. 
 
Born and raised in Italy, Andrea has a Degree in Law from the University of Rome (Italy) and a Master’s Degree in Political Sciences and International Relations from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). 
 

Bicycle Thefts

On July 29, 2014, at approximately 12:44 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 400 block of Tulip Avenue for a report of stolen bicycles.  Some time between July 28 at 6:00 pm and July 29 at 12:44 pm, unknown suspect(s) stole the victim's bicycles from out of an unsecured shed.  The bicycles are described as (1) black specialized woman's bicycle and (2) black and silver Cannondale bicycle.
