On September 19, 2013, at approximately 10:36 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7500 block of Maple Avenue (apartment building) for a report of a theft that occurred. Property was stolen from the maintenance room in the basement by unknown suspect(s).

Attempt Theft from Auto - Community Advisory

On September 19, 2013, at approximately 7:22 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7300 block of Wildwood Drive for a report of an attempt theft from auto. Unknown suspect(s) broke open the front passenger window sometime between September 18 at 6:30 pm and September 19 at 7:15 am. No property was stolen.

Takoma Park Police Department Weekly Crime Report: 9/13/13 - 9/19/13

Arrests:

7500 blk. of Maple Ave., on Wednesday, September 18th at 11:20 a.m., a male 20, was arrested for having an open theft warrant.

7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Sunday, September 15th at 11:40 p.m., a male 23, was arrested for driving on a suspended license, making false statements, and possession of marijuana.

Vandalism of Vehicles; Destruction of Property - Community Advisory

On September 16, 2013, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6600 block of Poplar Avenue for six incidents and the 1300 block of Erskine Street for one incident regarding vandalism to vehicles and destruction of property.

Vehicle 1: 6600 block of Poplar Avenue. Driver's side mirror removed. Occurred some time between September 15 at 5:00 pm and September 16 at 7:02 am.

Residential Burglary - Community Advisory

On September 18, 2013, at approximately 4:58 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 8100 block of Roanoke Avenue for reports of a burglary that had just occurred. An unknown suspect made entry into the residence through an unlocked door (the victim was at home at the time in his backyard). It does not appear that any property was stolen. When the victim called out to see who was in his house, he saw an individual flee through his front yard towards Kennebec Avenue.

Theft from Auto - Community Advisory

On September 18, 2013, at approximately 2:40 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue for a report of a theft from auto. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's vehicle by smashing out the rear passenger window and stole property.

On September 17, 2013, at approximately 7:05 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 600 block of Houston Avenue for a report of a theft from auto. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's vehicle by unknown means and stole property.

Bicycle Theft - Community Advisory

On September 17, 2013, at approximately 3:04 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7200 block of Spruce Avenue for a report of a stolen bicycle. Unknown suspect(s) stole the victim's bicycle sometime between September 16 at 7:00 pm and September 17 at 7:00 am. The bicycle is described as a blue Fuji Odessa bike.
