Chief Alan M. Goldberg of the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of Walter Arevalo, 24, of Alexandria, Virginia, for 1st Degree Burglary, Theft over $10,000/Under $100,000 and Malicious Destruction of Property.

On October 18, 2013, Arevalo was arrested with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. Investigation by the Takoma Park Police Criminal Investigations Division led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Arevalo for the August 30, 2013, residential burglary that occurred in the 1000 block of Elm Avenue, Takoma Park, Maryland.

Arevalo is being held at the Fairfax County, Virginia, Detention Center awaiting extradition back to the State of Maryland.
