FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chief Alan M. Goldberg from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of a 17 year old male juvenile of Takoma Park, Maryland, for possession with the intent to distribute Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) Marijuana, possession of CDS Marijuana, and possession of CDS drug paraphernalia.

During the month of March 2014, detectives from the Special Assignment Team (SAT) initiated a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) investigation, which resulted in a residence in the 7800 block of Cole Avenue being identified as a residence in which narcotics sales were taking place.

On April 2, 2014, SAT arrested four subjects who were connected to the target location. Additional investigative steps were conducted with the assistance of a detective from the Drug Investigative Unit (DIU). A search and seizure warrant was obtained for the residence.

On April 17, 2014, at approximately 1:00 pm, with the assistance of detectives from the Criminal Street Gang Unit and the DIU, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed the search warrant. A search of the residence revealed an amount of Marijuana indicative of an intent to distribute. A large amount of U.S. Currency was also seized.

The juvenile was transported to the Takoma Park Police Department and charged accordingly. He was released to the custody of a parent.
