CELLULAR TELEPHONE PROGRAM

The Takoma Park Police Department offers free emergency cell phones to victims of domestic violence. The phones are programmed to call 911 and are available to victims of domestic violence and/or stalking.

Guidelines for obtaining a cellular phone :

• - must be a victim of domestic abuse and/or stalking
• - must be a Takoma Park resident
• - must have an active protective order in effect
• - the case reflects a past history of violence or the potential for violence
• - victim has been instructed in the use of the cellular telephone
• - victim must sign the cellular telephone agreement
