New Takoma Park Interactive Demographic Map and Update to Data Explorer

Want to find out more about your neighborhood? The Takoma Park Interactive Demographic Map provides important information about Takoma Park’s neighborhoods – like their population and demographics – and allows residents to compare them to other neighborhoods in Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, and the District of Columbia.

The City recently completed a new Takoma Park Interactive Demographic Map and the annual update to the Takoma Park Data Explorer. The Interactive Demographic Map shows the same information as the old map but updates the data to 2016–2020; lets you view the data at different geographies (Census block groups, tracts, and places); and lets you compare Takoma Park to municipalities in Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, and DC. It also lets you download the data in the map as an Excel file or shapefile if you want to look at it on your own.

The Takoma Park Data Explorer lets you see important data about the City and its residents, including information on economic and racial disparities in the City. With the completion of this year’s update, the data in the explorer now reflects 2016–2020 American Community Survey Data (www.census.gov/programs-surveys/acs) updated from 2015–2019 American Community Survey Data.
