About Ward 3 Councilmember Kacy Kostiuk
Kacy lives in Takoma Park with her husband Damian and their two children, Alex and Peter. They have lived in their house on Carroll Ave for more than 7 years.
Kacy works in the field of international education and communications. She has worked as a participant recruiter, communications officer, and senior program officer for federally funded international exchange programs. In these roles, she has collaborated with institutional partners abroad and been responsible for managing program budgets, creating and overseeing a small grants program, coordinating program logistics, providing guidance to students, and planning conferences and events. She has also taught English as a Second Language to adult immigrants and refugees, most recently at CASA de Maryland.
Kacy was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uzbekistan from 2003-2005. She has a B.A. in English and Communication Arts from Wartburg College and an M.A. in international studies from the University of Washington.
