Deputy City Manager Jason Damweber
Jason Damweber began serving the City of Takoma Park as Deputy City Manager in August 2015. Prior to joining the Takoma Park team, he worked for the Town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina in a variety of roles including budget analyst in the Business Management department, management analyst and budget manager in the Public Works department (where he was responsible for development and management of a $16 million, multi-fund budget), and most recently, Assistant to the Town Manager for Special Projects and Operations in the Manager’s Office.
Jason received BAs in Government and Economics from the University of Virginia and an MPA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Between earning these degrees, he was a Teach for America Corps Member and a Research Manager for the University of Connecticut’s Department of Public Policy.
Jason is an active member of the International City County Manager’s Association (ICMA). He was elected by his peers in 2018 to serve as the Maryland City/County Management Association’s Treasurer. In the past, he served on the Government Finance Officers Association Generational Change Task Force and is a graduate of the American Public Works Association’s Emerging Leaders Academy.
Jason enjoys being outdoors with his partner, Amanda, and their two young children, Emmett and Quinn. He loves cooking, reading, and has been known to pick up an acoustic guitar every once in a while.
