TKPK5K Challenge

Twelve Years supporting community safety, fun and fitness!

Will there be a TKPK5K in 2021? We are evaluating all options available to hold the race in some form this year, if possible, so stay tuned. TKPK5K is all about safety, health and fitness. While you are making efforts to stay fit, please remember to follow all recommended guidelines to stay healthy and safe.

The Takoma Park Safe Routes to School  5K TKPK5K  challenges students, parents and staff at participating schools and area residents to train and compete on race day held the first Sunday in May in Takoma Park, MD.  Choose the timed 5K or 1 mile run or the untimed 5K walk or 1/4 mile youth run (8 and under only).  Proceeds from the TKPK5K fund pedestrian safety and health initiatives through the local Parent Teacher Associations.

The TKPK5K is a fun, family-oriented community event that also attracts serious runners.  Proceeds from the event fund health, fitness and bike and pedestrian safety activities at five local schools: Takoma Park Elementary, Piney Branch Elementary, East Silver Spring Elementary, Rolling Terrace Elementary and Takoma Park Middle.
