Winter Basketball League
The Winter Basketball League is a developmental community league that has been in existence since 2008.
2022 Season Updates
We are pleased to announce that we have received approval from the County to proceed with games for indoor sports. Practices will begin the week of January 31st and the amended game schedules for each division are available below.
The February 19th games for the kindergarten-2nd grade division have been relocated to Takoma Park Elementary School. Game times will remain the same.
Important notes & reminders:
- One spectator will be permitted per player for practices.
- Properly fitting masks are required for players, coaches, and spectators over the age of two at all times
- To the extent possible, physical distancing must be maintained.
- If individuals have any COVID-like symptoms or have been in known close-contact with someone who has tested positive, do NOT attend the program until you consult with your healthcare provider.
The Winter Basketball League program goals are to:
- Introduce youth to the fundamentals of basketball
- Encourage personal improvement, sportsmanship, and fun
- Provide comparable playing time for all participants
- Meet new kids from community and surrounding areas
Winter Basketball League Registration Information
All divisions fill well before the season starts so don’t wait to sign up! If a division is full, your child will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if a spot on a team becomes available.
The league will follow the current COVID guidelines from the CDC and DHHS. At this time all participants and coaches will be required to wear masks while in attendance of games and practices. Additionally, we encourage everyone eligible to get the vaccine, however it is not required to participate.
All team requests (i.e. coach, player, practice) must be made at the time of registration to be considered. Requests are on a first-come, first-serve basis and are not guaranteed.
