Takoma Park to host National Night Out

Come join us for a night of fun in celebration of unity in the community!

National Night Out, celebrated by police departments across the nation, is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).

The Takoma Park Police Department will host its own community event in celebration of this campaign. The department’s goal is to heighten safety and crime prevention awareness; to support locally-based businesses, groups, and organizations; and to strengthen relationships among community members and between the community and local police department.

The event is free, so bring your whole family and invite all your friends! This year’s event will include informational brochures on various safety topics and crime prevention, food, games, give-aways, interactive educational activities, and live music.

National Night Out will be held in front of the Piney Branch Elementary School, 7510 Maple Ave. from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.
