Nuclear-Free Takoma Park Committee
The purpose of the Nuclear-Free Takoma Park Committee is to fulfill the duties and responsibilities assigned to it by
the City Code and to perform such other tasks as Council may direct from time to time. (Ord. 2021-39 § 1, 2021)
Focus of the Nuclear-Free Takoma Park Committee
The City Council is in the process of revising the purpose of the Committee to focus on public education, outreach, and advocacy related to Takoma Park’s Nuclear-Free Zone Ordinance.
Committee Membership
The membership is to have collective experience in the areas of science, research, finance, law, peace and ethics. Residency is required. Members are appointed by the City Council to staggered two-year terms. Terms expire June 30.
