Special Sustainability Alert:
Join the Car Free Takoma Park Challenge!
May 19 - October 19
Open to everyone who lives or works in Takoma Park
It's a five month challenge to form new habits around using your car less and biking, walking, sharing rides, or using public transportation more.
The challenge will help Takoma Park meet its goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and it might also help you get a little extra exercise during your commutes and errands. There is even evidence that shows biking and walking to work makes you happier! You can earn miles for biking, walking, carpooling, metro, train, and bus for any trip you'd normally take by car. You can count your commute to work, errands, even your trip out to dinner on the weekend. You can compete as an individual and as part of a team. There will be monthly prizes so be sure to log your car free trips regularly.
JOIN the challenge at carfreetkpk.com (find your neighborhood team during registration by searching for the name or start a new team)
LOG your car free trips online or using the smartphone app "From Labs Challenge" beginning May 19
WIN prizes like new athletic/walking shoes, bike accessories, loaded Smartrip cards, bikeshare memberships, or a NEW BIKE!
