Important Notice Update: WSSC Water Main Repair on Maple Avenue Continuing Through 4pm Thursday, June 27

Update: Road Closure and Water Service Interruption Expected to be Completed by 4pm today, Thursday, June 27

The water main repair on Maple Avenue has been extended and is expected to be completed by 4 pm today. There remain two businesses and one apartment building (7611 Maple Ave) without water.  Maple Avenue remains closed at Maple Ave and Sherman Ave. However, residents of the apartment buildings between Ritchie Ae and Sherman Ave are now able to access their building's parking lot.

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC Water) began performing an essential repair to the water main on Maple Avenue on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. This necessary work requires a temporary road closure and water service interruption, affecting local residents and traffic.

Road Closure Details:
  • Date:  Thursday, June 27, 2024
  • Time: Expected to be completed by 4pm
  • Location: Maple Avenue and Sherman Ave

During this time, the specified section of Maple Avenue will be closed to all traffic. Detours will be clearly marked, and we advise all motorists to plan alternative routes to avoid delays.

Water Service Interruption:

Residents living in the 7600 and 7700 blocks of Maple Avenue will experience a temporary water service outage during the repair. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve the reliability of our water system.

WSSC Water appreciates your patience and cooperation during this time.
