Grant Programs
The City offers a variety of grant opportunities designed to further its goals to create and maintain a more fiscally and environmentally sustainable community and improve the quality of life for all residents.
Grant funds are awarded on a competitive basis for projects ranging from STEAM-focused programming (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), downpayment assistance to first-time homebuyers (in the form of a forgivable loan), and capital improvements benefiting the community or a specific neighborhood. Priority is typically given to projects or programming which primarily benefit the residents of Takoma Park; provide services to at-risk populations; engage diverse members of the community; promote civic involvement by under-represented populations; further, the economic or environmental sustainability of the community; and are offered in partnership with another organization.
