SHA Intersection Work along MD 410 & MD 195

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) has been improving pedestrian crossing signals and curb ramps at several intersections along MD 410 (Philadelphia Avenue) and MD 195 (Carroll Avenue). Work will continue intermittently through November.

Holiday Art Sale


The Takoma Park Arts and Humanities Commission hosts the Takoma Park Holiday Art Sale each year on the second Saturday of December. The sale features art work from local makers, artists, and craftspeople just in time for the holidays. This is a juried sale, and only original, hand-made work is sold.

The Takoma Park Holiday Art Sale

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and will be held at the Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Avenue. Vendors will include painters, photographers, potters, jewelers, knitters, and more! To see the work that was offered at last year’s Holiday Art Sale, check out the the 2015 Artist Catalog.

Accepting Applications for 2016!

We are accepting applications for this year’s event. If you’re an artist or craftsperson working in the DC-metro region, then apply for a space at the Takoma Park Holiday Art Sale using the webform at the bottom of the page. The deadline for submitting your application is Friday, October 14, 2016.
