New electric vehicle charging stations

14 New Electric Vehicle Charging Stations have been installed in Takoma Park. The Electric Vehicle Institute provided the stations and three years of maintenance for free to the City in an effort to increase public charging infrastructure in the region. Charging your EV at one of the 14 stations will be free for the time being, and since the City purchases 100 percent wind power, charging will also be emission free. The stations are located at the Takoma Park Community Center (7500 Maple Avenue), Takoma Park Recreation Center (7315 New Hampshire Avenue), by Morrison Park and at the City Parking Lot at the “Junction.” The City wants to install more stations for free on commercial properties in Takoma Park.
