The City’s newest grant program encourages businesses to locate within the City, or to expand their current Takoma Park space. Funding awards range from $4-6/square foot, and are capped at $10,000. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Learn more.

Old Takoma Business Association/Main Street Takoma – a business association for businesses and organizations located in the Takoma Main Street and Takoma Junction commercial corridor.
Takoma-Langley Crossroads Development Authority – a commercial business district responsible for marketing, maintenance, and security in the Takoma-Langley Crossroads.
Long Branch Business League – a business association for businesses and organizations located in the Long Branch commercial corridor.
Takoma Park Silver Spring Community Kitchen – a local, shared-use commercial kitchen for small-scale food business entrepreneurs.
Crossroads Community Farmers Market – a farmers market operating every Wednesday from November through April in the Takoma-Langley Crossroads.
Takoma Park Farmers Market – a farmers market operating every Sunday in the Takoma Main Street corridor.
Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) – a resource for business attraction and expansion efforts in Montgomery County.
Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) – a non-profit organization providing technical assistance, resources, and loans to small businesses in the Washington DC region.

Business Resources
In addition to the current Open for Business grant program, there are several active local, State, and federal opportunities. These programs are not operated by the City of Takoma Park:
- Project Restore (Maryland DHCD) – grants for businesses expanding, moving to or opening in a property that was previously vacant for at least six months.
- Neighborhood Business Works (Maryland DHCD) – loan program for new or expanding small businesses in Sustainable Communities or Priority Funding Areas.
- Montgomery County Small Business Rental Assistance Program (LEDC) – grants to small businesses in qualifying industries to support rental costs, both current and arrears rent payments.
