About the Inter-jurisdictional Cooperative Agreements
The Police Department is working to create “Mutual Aid Agreements” between the City of Takoma Park and the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC and Prince George’s County Police Department to authorize the signatories to enforce laws in all jurisdictions.
Current Project Status
The City sent a draft agreement in September 2015 to Prince George’s County for review and consideration.
A draft agreement with Washington, DC is currently under development. City staff has met with DC officials and completed a framework for the agreement.
