Washington Adventist Hospital Relocation

The Washington Adventist Healthcare Emergency Care services relocated to the Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center in August 2019. Urgent Care Services remain at the Takoma Park location, available 24/7. The timeline for the full closure of the hospital facility and relocation of the remaining services is yet to be determined.

The departure of the Washington Adventist Hospital triggered a Minor Master Plan Amendment process, coordinated by Montgomery Planning, in partnership with the City of Takoma Park. The Minor Master Plan process will create a policy and land use road map for the hospital campus property and beyond. “Takoma Park has many critical needs. We need health facilities to serve those in our community who cannot easily travel for their care. I want to assure the public that we will do everything we possibly can to ensure the property remains a valuable asset meeting the vital needs of the Takoma Park community.”

–Takoma Park Mayor Kate Stewart, January 2018
