City Offices and Facilities Opening on a Two-Hour Delay Schedule Wednesday, January 8

Update: City offices and facilities will open two hours late on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Telework and liberal leave are also in effect for the workday:

• Essential employees are expected to work their normal or alternative shifts as directed by their department director.
• All non-essential City staff with an approved Telework Agreement may telework or take liberal leave in the form of vacation, compensatory leave, or personal time.
• All other employees will report 2 hours late unless their shift starts after the delayed opening.

As always, the City of Takoma Park Police Department will be open 24/7 for Emergency Services. 

Takoma Park Recreation Impacts- Wednesday, January 8:

• There will be no childcare programs or Winter Basketball League practice due to MCPS being closed.

Previous Updates- Collection Services:

• Trash, Recycling, and Food Waste routes delayed on Tuesday, January 7, and are expected to begin collection at 10am.
• Please use caution when setting your containers out to ensure they are on flat ground and stable and don't tip into the street before emptying them.
• The City's Monday yard waste collection program was canceled. Collection will resume Monday, January 13, 2025.
