The Finance Office oversees the City’s financial resources, processes payroll, pays bills, collects certain fees, and safeguards and invests City funds.

The Office prepares an annual report and facilitates the City’s financial management audit.

FY2024 City Council Budget Process

• Payment of City Fees

The Finance Department collects payments for the following fees:

• Landlord Registration and Licensing

Online Payment

Payments associated with a City-issued invoice may be made online or by phone using Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. A convenience fee of 3.75% or $2.50, whichever is greater, will be charged.

• The fee is subject to change based on our Tyler’s System Credit Card Services. Customers may avoid paying the convenience fee by paying in cash. (No checks are accepted for passport service fee).

Takoma Park residents have the option to pay the following fees online.

Property Taxes

Montgomery County collects Takoma Park Property Tax payments. As a result, the Takoma Park Finance Office will no longer accept payment for Stormwater fees, which are included in Property Taxes.

Online payment of Stormwater fees by EB2.gov is no longer available.

Permit Fees

Speed Camera Citations

Payments for speed camera citations are not accepted at the Community Center or the Finance Department. See the Speed Cameras page for information on how to pay a speed camera citation issued by the City of Takoma Park.
