The City of Takoma Park has partnered with several organizations to expand affordable homeownership opportunities and preserve and create “safe, sustainable, accessible, and affordable ” housing across socioeconomic groups.
In September 2020, City Council authorized the use of $200,000 from the City’s Housing Reserve Fund, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland, to purchase, redevelop, and sell a Takoma Park property.
The City selected the nonprofit developer, Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc. (HIP), to develop 320 Lincoln Avenue into an affordable homeownership opportunity.
