Minor Master Plan

The City of Takoma Park, in partnership with Montgomery Planning, will update portions of the 2000 Takoma Park Master Plan to re-envision the Washington Adventist Campus and surrounding areas through a Minor Master Plan Amendment. View the County webpage for this initiative.

Current Status

Takoma Park City Council voted to approve Resolution 2021-22 in support of the scope of work and boundaries on July 7, 2021.  The Minor Master Plan process formally kicks off (including community engagement) when the Planning Board approves a scope of work and boundary in September 2021.

Budget & Funding Source

This initiative is part of the work plan for County and City planning staff. The only expected costs to the City will be minor expenses for outreach and public meetings.

March 24, 2021: Montgomery Planning staff made a presentation to Council regarding the process and schedule for the Plan.

June 14, 2021: Montgomery Planning staff made a presentation to Council regarding draft scope of work and project boundaries. Council agenda item and meeting video.

July 7, 2021: City Planning staff made a presentation to City Council, and Council unanimously approved Resolution 2021-22 on the proposed boundary of the Minor Master Plan Amendment. Council agenda item and meeting video (beginning at 01:27:57).
