Featured Community Development Projects
The goal of this project is to creatively make space for bicyclists on the southbound side on New Hampshire Avenue with a two-directional bikeway. The bikeway will extend from Holton Lane to Poplar Avenue, providing connectivity to the Transit Station, the planned Purple Line station, and Sligo Creek Parkway.
The City is developing a Public Space Management Plan to provide a vision, goals, and guidance on how public space will be used and maintained in Takoma Park. This plan will be an update to the City’s 1994 Open Space Plan (amended in 1999).
The City of Takoma Park initiated a comprehensive effort to update, inventory, and improve all bus stops in the City in order to encourage bus ridership and use of public transportation. The aim is to make bus stops in Takoma Park accessible, safe, comfortable, and informative.
