State Highway Administration Projects
This spring, the Maryland Department of Transportation State
Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) continues work on projects with potential traffic impacts for motorists in Silver Spring and Takoma Park in Montgomery County. All project estimated completion dates are weather and progress permitting. The projects include:
MD 193 (University Boulevard) safety and resurfacing project from the I-495 (Capital Beltway) ramps to MD 320 (Piney Branch Road). Estimated completion date late fall 2017). MD 195 (Carroll Avenue) vehicular bridge replacement Sligo Creek/Sligo Creek Parkway in Takoma Park.

Through the completion of each project, crews are generally permitted to temporarily close one lane of traffic, weekdays, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and one or two lanes, overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Additional lane closures and work times may be necessary to complete all phases of work. Equipment used for construction can be disruptive. Drivers should slow down, be prepared to stop and be aware of changing traffic patterns inside each work zone.
