Ride Along Program
The Ride Along Program provides residents the opportunity to ride in a marked police cruiser alongside a patrol officer to observe the daily duties of an officer.
Ride-Along Application Instructions
On-line application process: Read the instructions carefully before starting the process. Applicants are asked to submit the application and waiver form. You must be at least 16 years of age to apply. Those applicants 16 and 17 must have a parent/guardian submit a waiver form for you as well as the one you complete.
- Fully read the Ride-Along guidelines.
- Complete the on-line Ride-Along application. Pick the hour you wish to start your ride-along and two dates (first and second choice), 14 days out from your application. After submitting you will be asked to attach a copy of both sides of your driver’s license or other photo identification.
- All applicants then must complete the on-line Ride-Along waiver and submit.
- Any applicant that is 16 or 17 years of age must have a parent or guardian read the Ride-Along guidelines and then complete and submit the parent/guardian waiver. Without the parent/guardian waiver 16-17 year olds will not be processed.
All submissions go to the police department for review and approval. You will be contacted in approximately 7 days with a confirmation that you have been approved for a ride-along.
