The Takoma Park Recreation Department offers a variety of in-house sports leagues throughout the year. Current leagues include: Winter Basketball (winter), Futsal (winter), Adult Softball (spring), T-ball (summer), Y.E.S. League Basketball (summer), Adult Summer Basketball League (summer), and Pickleball Open Gym (fall), Adult Volleyball club (fall).
Coaches Information
All of our sports leagues are dependent on volunteer coaches. Although experience with the sport is helpful, having the passion, energy, and time to help youth in our community is most important as training is provided. Interested volunteers can email tpsports@takomaparkmd.gov for more information. All of our volunteer coaches must pass a criminal background check (provided by the Recreation Department) and attend the pre-season coach’s meeting.
If you are interested in being a volunteer coach, please email TPsports@takomaparkmd.gov to confirm. Once you have done so, please complete the background screening consent form by following the link below. You may select John Webster as the “individual requesting the background screening” when completing the application. NCSI Criteria for Exclusion

During the season coaches will relay updates, practice times, cancelations, etc to parents/guardians. Please reach out to your team coach with questions.
