City of Takoma Park offices and facilities will open 3 hours late at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 16. Due to Montgomery County Public School closing the Takoma Park Recreation Department’s child care programs canceled. The Police Department is always open for emergency services.
Trash, recycling & food waste collection will start at noon today.
TPRD’s Childcare Programs Canceled Today
Due to Montgomery County Public School’s closing, Takoma Park Recreation Department’s child care programs are canceled today, Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
City Offices Opening Late
City of Takoma Park offices and facilities will open 3 hours late at 11:30 AM on Thursday, January 28. Due to Montgomery County Public School closing the Takoma Park Recreation Department’s child care programs and Winter Basketball League practices are canceled. The Police Department is always open for emergency services.
Sidewalk Clearing Enforcement
We will begin issuing citations for uncleared sidewalks in front of businesses, institutions, and apartment/multi-family buildings on Thursday and for sidewalks in front of single-family homes on Friday.
Traffic Restrictions
Takoma Park has installed several temporary traffic signs to assist with plowing efforts during the storm.
- Do not enter @ Flower at Garland. Making Flower one way from Jackson to Garland.
- Do Not Enter @ the top of the hill at Kansas and Allegheny. Stopping traffic from entering Kansas to go towards Cockerille and from entering Allegheny towards Fourth.
- Do Not Enter @ Hancock and Lee and Hancock and Sherman. To prevent drivers from attempting to go down steep streets.
Please be careful if you have to go out and pay attention to direction signs.
Morning Addition – 2 Hour Delay for Wednesday, January 8
Takoma Park Recreation Department’s Morning Addition will open at 9:00 AM today due to Montgomery County Public School’s 2 hour delay.
Holiday Closures
Christmas: City of Takoma Park offices and facilities will close at 12:30 PM on Thursday, December 24 for the Christmas Eve holiday. City of Takoma Park offices and facilities will be closed on Friday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday.
New Year’s Day: City of Takoma Park offices and facilities will close at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 31 for the New Year’s Eve holiday. The City of Takoma Park will be closed on Friday, January 1 and Saturday, January 2 for the New Year’s Day holiday.
The Takoma Park Police Department is open 24/7 for emergency services.
City Offices Closed – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
All City offices & facilities will be closed Monday, January 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Police Department is always open for emergency services.
