Command Staff - Lieutenant Matthew Muzzatti
Lieutenant Matthew Muzzatti is a dedicated law enforcement officer who has served his community with distinction for over a decade. Born and raised in Silver Spring, MD, Lt. Muzzatti’s passion for law enforcement began at an early age. His father, a retired police officer from DC MPD, inspired him to pursue a career in law enforcement.
Lt. Muzzatti began his career in law enforcement in 2010, serving as a patrol officer with the DC Protective Services Police Department. During this time, he gained valuable experience in community policing and crime prevention. In 2013, Lt. Muzzatti joined the Takoma Park Police Department, where he quickly distinguished himself as a skilled and dedicated officer.
During his time with the Takoma Park Police Department, Lt. Muzzatti has served in various roles, including patrol officer and K9 handler. As a K9 handler, he worked closely with his canine partner, Kota, to detect narcotics and assist in apprehending suspects. Lt. Muzzatti’s dedication to his work and his commitment to the community earned him the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of the community.
In addition to his work with the Takoma Park Police Department, Lt. Muzzatti is also a proud graduate of Montgomery Blair High School. He is an active member of the community and is involved in various outreach programs.
Lt. Muzzatti is committed to serving and protecting the residents of Takoma Park and is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. He is a highly respected and valued member of the Takoma Park Police Department and is known for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication to the job.
