Police Emergency Preparedness Manager/Police Planning

As the Police Emergency Preparedness Manager, Ron Hardy is an experienced professional.  He has a background in law enforcement, which complements his work in the emergency management field.

Key Responsibilities:

In his role as the Police Emergency Preparedness Manager, Mr. Hardy is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive emergency response plans.  He works closely with law enforcement agencies, first responders, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and communication during critical incidents.

Community Engagement:

Beyond his role within the Takoma Park Police Department, Mr. Hardy actively engages with the community to foster a culture of preparedness.  He conducts training sessions, workshops, and outreach programs to empower individuals and organizations with the knowledge needed to respond effectively in emergencies.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

Mr. Hardy understands the importance of collaboration in local and national emergencies.  He fosters strong partnerships with local and regional emergency services, law enforcement agencies, and others to ensure a coordinated and well-organized response to any crisis.

About Ron Hardy:

Mr. Hardy has been with the City of Takoma Park for 10 years as the Emergency Preparedness Manager/Police Planning. He lived in the city from 1957 to 1961 and had relatives in the city from the late 1920s to 2013.

Mr. Hardy is a retired Montgomery County Police Officer with over 33 years of law enforcement experience and several years of emergency preparedness experience.  He has his Advanced Professional Series Certificate from FEMA in Emergency Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree from American University in Administration of Justice.

Mr. Hardy is a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor for the city and has taught Stop the Bleed and Active Assailant classes to the community.

Mr. Hardy lives up-county on a farm with his wife, daughter and four grandchildren, enjoying their activities and taking care of the horses.
